Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) involves developing technical and artistic skills to become a drafting technician or technologist with strong knowledge of industry standard software. This program introduces you to the concepts of drafting. You will learn the basics of AutoCAD, mathematics, topography, architecture, physical sciences, and other related topics. After successful completion of the first year of study you will receive a certificate in Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) focusing on traditional and more advanced computer-aided drafting skills relevant to the demands of the changing Canadian industry. This program is aligned with industry standards. Annual meetings of an advisory board made up of local professionals, college faculty and students ensure standards are maintained. In addition, computer hardware and software is kept current with regular upgrades.This program will be challenging. Having a strong background in computers, mathematics, and physics is an asset to anyone entering the program. Time management skills are also necessary as the program has an especially heavy course load.
